Each cigarette filter can take 6 years or more to decompose. You may not feel like a criminal, but tossing your cigarette butt is littering and carries a fine—no different than tossing trash out your car window.
CAP has teamed with KBBC (Keep Birmingham Beautiful Commission) as part of the Great American Cleanup to provide receptacles for cigarette butts downtown and to get out the message to CAN YOUR BUTT!
