"Two Men and a Truck" is DONATING a run down to LA for us.  Yeah and thanks to Candi at Hands On Bham for making this arrangement.  I am going to try and get them to make a pit stop in Baton Rouge. :-)  Plans are to load truck on Thursday and have them arrive maybe Friday depending on what time they leave here.  I think it's Channel 33 who will come when we are loading up (Trish, hope you can be there to take some picture of them taking pictures :-)).  Also Thursday the newspaper will be here to do a story on Homeless helping homeless. Hopefully our guys from the Firehouse will show up.  (Teresa- should probably let Walter know.  I don't have his number here so could you email it to me please).  Lu Ann will you call Lorraine for me 871-0861 and fill her in as she doesn't have email.

I will not be here for an hour or so tomorrow starting at  10:45am. as I'm doing a radio interview (I think it will be aired  6pm-6:30pm) for a UAB program on WJDL 1400am.  I'm not sure I want to hear myself, but maybe one of you can listen and give me some feedback.

Yall are THE BEST!!!!!!!!!

Ok, Truck has to be back in town Thurs night so we are packing out tomorrow.  Sadly we won't have enough to fill the truck (I'm going to ask if he has a smaller one because the way he is talking, they can pack as much as an 18 wheeler.  They don't use pallets).

Teresa got the following message from Mark Brown:

FYI - am now in Jackson en route to Lake Charles, LA where I will be Incident Commander again.
Tommorrow I do an assessment before we bring in 30+ staff later in the day
Am told there is a lot of flooding, no power, phones etc.
At this point I have no idea what the needs are.
Mark

I think we should try to get some folks passing out flyers and collecting food at the Brunos again.  What about Vincents in Homewood?  I'm going to try Nora with the Salvation Army in Jasper again.

LuAnn,  lets make a list of how many cans of veggies, meats, and fruit you are putting in boxes.  Towards wednesday, we may need to set up again like we did before with lots of volunteers.  Let me know what you think works best. :-)

I'm going to change Kmart flyers to food, rubber boots, rubber gloves and work gloves.

Hope everybody is rested up!! :-)

The following has been sent to our major email list.  Please help in any way you can whether its getting the word out, collecting food or volunteering on Saturday betw. 1pm - 5pm., or helping load the truck on Tuesday the 4th (time TBA).
FYI  Dana is the Point Person for Saturday as I will be out of town.  Feel free to call me on Friday.  When I'm out of cell range, I'll put a message to call Dana. :-)  Also, Channel 13 has told me they would push the announcement on the news programs so if you see it let me know.

Thank you all for all that you do!!!
