We still are in need of: People who are going down to the coast and can take a few boxes. Volunteers in warehouse. Chapstick Medical Tape Hydrogen Peroxide. Locking cabinet
Jim Paul from Kenn-Tenn stopped by and picked up a pallet of diabetic testing supplies and took them to D’Iberville Free Clinic for MS distribution (Bay St. Louis Coastal Clinic, Bethel Lutheran and Angie). He was loaded to the gills with other supplies, but decided that our kits out ranked a pallet of potato chips he was taking to volunteer groups. Thanks Jim Paul and Dennis!
55 First Aid Kits Sent Out : Five First Aid Base Camp Boxes went out to Lawrence Co. Alabama after tornadoes hit recently. The boxes will go to the volunteer camps and each one has a main kit and 10 smaller kits to go into the field where the volunteers are helping with clean up. Our humble thanks to Direct Relief International, Johnson & Johnson, UAB Hospital, Cousins Properties and the Jr. League for collecting the items needed. We are trying to provide this service since we are able to get some of the supplies easily, but we could really use some more help with a few of the items like chapstick, Hydrogen Peroxide and medical tape. Our goal is to have kits on the ready to be distributed by the North Alabama United Methodist Disaster Warehouse.
We received a load of medical supplies (about 6 pallets worth) from a group in Chicago. They dropped the supplies off and picked up a pallet of diabetic kits and about 11 boxes of baby formula to take into NOLA. 184 diabetic kits went to Covenant House, Jefferson Comm. Health and Common Ground. THANKS Bob!
UAB also dropped off about 7 pallets of medical supplies!! We are a bit crowded, but excited.
