Please click on this link to read about our attempts to set up a free clinic to give much needed medical assistance to hurricane-stricken Native Americans and other impoverished residents of the LA bayous. The Department of Health and Hospitals is stopping us, despite their claim that the licensure can "go through regular channels." Paula Buhr, a nurse with the MS Medical Assistance Team, was told by DHH, "you can come, but you won't get lisensure."

Please help by contacting Louisiana's governor and, most especially, forwarding this to anyone you know who resides in Louisiana or elsewhere and ask them to contact the governor's office with their concerns.
We suggest something like:
I read in The Courier (or HoumaToday.com) that the LA Dept. of Health and Hospitals is refusing to give a medical team expedited licensure in to serve the poverty stricken bayous after 2 hurricanes hit them. As a concerned citizen, I'd like to encourage you to reevaluate this position.
